HotFolk is a summer calendar of folk costume and bare, sun-warmed beauty. I’m one of the photographers on the team, and this page shows only my own work: the sets I shot, the frames that never made the calendar, and my backstage videos.
2,000+ uncensored photos I shot across four calendars. One payment of $30, yours to keep.
HotFolk is the project of photographer @la.shoot. The calendar, the brand and the printed edition are his. I’m on the team behind the camera, and every summer I shoot alongside the crew in old cottages, gardens and meadows.
What I shoot ends up in two places. A handful of frames make the calendar. The rest, hundreds of them, stay with me.
Hundreds of photos that never made the calendar. Other poses, other light, the moments in between.
Raw footage from the shoot days. You won’t find it anywhere else.
The 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 calendars in one collection. Pay once, keep it.
Each calendar is shot the summer before: the 2027 calendar in summer 2026, the 2026 calendar in summer 2025. A new location and a new cast every year. Pick a year, or get all of them at once.
We went back to the Moravian farmstead from last summer, this time in June 2026. Almost fifteen models came, about half of them new faces, and for the first time four photographers shot side by side while a cameraman filmed the day.
The farmstead in Moravia was too good to leave after one summer: old beamed rooms inside, a wide yard and a garden full of flowers outside. We came back in June, and the weather held, as it somehow always does for HotFolk. The sun stayed with us from the first frame to the last.
The girls arrived ready. They brought their own dresses and folk costumes and had woven flower crowns for their hair before we had even set up. We shot two versions of the calendar that day, the classic one and the topless one, moving between the house, the yard and the garden as the light changed.
Almost fifteen women came this year, and about half of them I had never photographed before. The ones who return every summer look forward to it all year, and you can see it in the photos. The mood stayed easy the whole day: lots of laughing, nobody in a hurry.
Something new this time: there were four of us behind the camera, plus a cameraman. His short videos from the day are on the @la.shoot Instagram. My own frames, more than 400 of them, and my backstage videos from the shoot are in my HotFolk collection on Patreon.
For the first time one shoot wasn’t enough. We started in an old timbered cottage in Central Bohemia and finished on a farmstead in Moravia, with the biggest cast HotFolk has had so far.
This year I returned to the relaxed, lightly provocative world of HotFolk for the third time — and it became an edition I won’t soon forget. For the first time, one shoot wasn’t enough. We gathered twice, in two different corners of the country, and together they gave rise to by far the richest HotFolk calendar yet.
We began in Central Bohemia, inside a beautiful old timbered cottage whose wooden walls and quiet garden seemed to remember a very different age. Later in the summer, the season led us to Moravia — to a picturesque village farmstead with a sprawling garden, where the scent of blooming flower beds and the warmth of a long evening gave the photographs an entirely different mood. Two places, two atmospheres, and yet the same HotFolk signature: folklore, nature, and a woman who feels free within it.
This was our largest cast ever. More models came together than in any edition before — familiar faces and new girls who slipped naturally into the crew. Two full days of work, from morning until dusk, produced more photographs and more backstage video than any HotFolk season so far. And as always, watching over it all were Petko and his wife — the couple who dreamed up HotFolk in the first place and have lovingly kept it afloat ever since. Without their idea, their energy, and their persistence, not one of those beautiful days would exist.
Most of the girls I knew from the year before. Red currants, wildflower crowns, water fights in the meadow: the Czech countryside at its slowest.
This year again, I had the honor of being part of the relaxed and slightly provocative HotFolk project. Ahead of me was the photoshoot for the 2025 calendar. The success of last year’s edition set the bar high, and the team set out to find an equally picturesque location. We gathered at the end of June and were welcomed by beautiful countryside near Prague. The summer sun and a pleasant day filled with a creative atmosphere hinted at an engaging shoot — one that would certainly please the eye.
I was looking forward to working again with the well-coordinated team from the previous year. I knew most of the selected girls from the last calendar shoot or from other projects. The ease and confidence with which the experienced models posed added a veil of natural allure to the shots. The new faces quickly blended into the team, and the whole day carried a friendly and inspiring atmosphere. One shot naturally led to another, and each setup came together effortlessly. Perhaps the photos themselves will reflect the laughter, the enjoyable moments, and the sense of ease that are so characteristic of a HotFolk shoot.
The scenes were set in the beautiful surroundings of the Czech countryside, where beautiful women have belonged since time immemorial. We combined traditional motifs with a summer atmosphere and details offered by the picturesque nature itself. A stunning old timbered cottage, summer flowers, stone walls, and quietly rustling leafy trees radiate a sense of calm to everyone — even those who only pause there for a moment.
Admiring graceful curves and delicate feminine beauty is certainly part of it, but we also aimed to capture the scent of blooming meadows, freshly baked treats, and the peace that surely once filled rural homes. It’s a reminder of a time when people gathered around a shared table in the evening, neighbors met regularly, Saturdays were for dancing, and people felt close to one another — not only through fun, but also through a genuine willingness to help each other.
The day filled up with beautiful shots, and I’m glad we managed to capture moments that showcase the beauty of the Czech landscape while highlighting the importance of friendship and respect for tradition. Try taking a quiet walk by a pond one summer day, weaving a wreath from wildflowers, or simply listening to the gentle rustle of the forest. The surrounding silence and soft rays of sunlight will soothe you.
The HotFolk 2025 calendar is a series of photographs that evoke a summer atmosphere with a touch of nostalgia and the sensual beauty of Czech and Slovak girls. I hope the images will take you back to a beautiful summer and bring you joy throughout the year.
My first HotFolk shoot. A wooden cottage, white linen and a slow river: the edition where it began for me.
In the summer of 2023 the HotFolk team asked me to come along as a second, backup photographer. I already knew some of them from earlier projects and shoots, they liked my photos, and so they asked whether I would help them with the calendar.
The day itself was slow in the best way: an old wooden cottage, white linen drying in the sun and a river that barely seemed to move. I was there as backup, yet I came home with more than 500 frames. That summer was the start for me. I have been back every year since, and the 2025, 2026 and 2027 calendars all grew out of that first day.

More than 30 women have posed for HotFolk since 2024, and more than half of them I’ve also photographed on my own sessions. A few of them below, each with her own page here. All of them are in the full HotFolk collection.
