HotFolk is a yearly celebration of folk tradition and bare, sun-warmed beauty — a fine-art nude calendar shot each summer in the Czech countryside. Embroidered skirts, wildflower crowns, timbered cottages, and the quiet confidence of women who wear nothing but the landscape. Every edition brings a new cast and a new corner of Bohemia. Below you’ll find each year, newest first — a curated preview here, the complete uncensored series on Patreon.
This year I returned to the relaxed, lightly provocative world of HotFolk for the third time — and it became an edition I won’t soon forget. For the first time, one shoot wasn’t enough. We gathered twice, in two different corners of the country, and together they gave rise to by far the richest calendar we’ve made yet.
We began in Central Bohemia, inside a beautiful old timbered cottage whose wooden walls and quiet garden seemed to remember a very different age. Later in the summer, the season led us to Moravia — to a picturesque village farmstead with a sprawling garden, where the scent of blooming flower beds and the warmth of a long evening gave the photographs an entirely different mood. Two places, two atmospheres, and yet the same HotFolk signature: folklore, nature, and a woman who feels free within it.
This was our largest cast ever. More models came together than in any edition before — familiar faces and new girls who slipped naturally into the crew. Two full days of work, from morning until dusk, produced more photographs and more backstage video than any HotFolk season so far. And as always, watching over it all were Petko and his wife — the couple who dreamed up HotFolk in the first place and have lovingly kept it afloat ever since. Without their idea, their energy, and their persistence, not one of those beautiful days would exist.
HotFolk also lives as a printed wall calendar — twelve months of folk beauty, produced by the HotFolk team. Want a copy on your wall? Order it directly from them.
This year again, I had the honor of being part of the relaxed and slightly provocative HotFolk project. Ahead of me was the photoshoot for the 2025 calendar. The success of last year’s edition set the bar high, and we aimed to find an equally picturesque location. We gathered at the end of June and were welcomed by beautiful countryside near Prague. The summer sun and a pleasant day filled with a creative atmosphere hinted at an engaging shoot—one that would certainly please the eye.
I was looking forward to working again with the well-coordinated team from the previous year. I knew most of the selected girls from the last calendar shoot or from other projects. The ease and confidence with which the experienced models posed added a veil of natural allure to the shots. The new faces quickly blended into the team, and the whole day carried a friendly and inspiring atmosphere. One shot naturally led to another, and each setup came together effortlessly. Perhaps the photos themselves will reflect the laughter, the enjoyable moments, and the sense of ease that are so characteristic of a HotFolk shoot.
The scenes were set in the beautiful surroundings of the Czech countryside, where beautiful women have belonged since time immemorial. We combined traditional motifs with a summer atmosphere and details offered by the picturesque nature itself. A stunning old timbered cottage, summer flowers, stone walls, and quietly rustling leafy trees radiate a sense of calm to everyone—even those who only pause there for a moment.
Admiring graceful curves and delicate feminine beauty is certainly part of it, but we also aimed to capture the scent of blooming meadows, freshly baked treats, and the peace that surely once filled rural homes. It’s a reminder of a time when people gathered around a shared table in the evening, neighbors met regularly, Saturdays were for dancing, and people felt close to one another—not only through fun, but also through a genuine willingness to help each other.
The day filled up with beautiful shots, and I’m glad we managed to capture moments that showcase the beauty of the Czech landscape while highlighting the importance of friendship and respect for tradition. Try taking a quiet walk by a pond one summer day, weaving a wreath from wildflowers, or simply listening to the gentle rustle of the forest. The surrounding silence and soft rays of sunlight will soothe you.
The HotFolk 2025 calendar is a series of photographs that evoke a summer atmosphere with a touch of nostalgia and the sensual beauty of Czech and Slovak girls. I hope the images will take you back to a beautiful summer and bring you joy throughout the year. I believe you will enjoy the final result and the calendar.
